Ableton UI SFX Sound Design - Texture Rack

Related to my ‘Tone Generator’ the TEXTURE generator is meant to help sound designers quickly get to the clicks, shifts, and scroll sounds that are a part of UI sound effects.

You’ll find it attached to this post and you can watch a quick demo of me using it above. As I work more with tools like this, and get better at Ableton I might discover better was to organize these Ableton racks, in which case I’ll update this post! Of course, if you think there’s are better ways to organize these racks, please let me know!

All of the samples used are from Sonniss’ GDC audio bundles.   “Everything is royalty-free and commercially usable. No attribution is required and you can use them on an unlimited number of projects.” There are 128 samples included in this pack, with everything from pops to camera shutters to metal chains.

Both the tone and texture generators are meant as starting points in searing for the right sound. As I show in the video, I’ll often layer them together to get a “boop+click” sound.
